Get Started with Ledger

Welcome to Ledger, the secure hardware wallet designed to protect your cryptocurrencies. Follow this guide to set up your device and manage your digital assets safely.

Step 1: Download Ledger Live

Ledger Live is the official application to manage your Ledger device and cryptocurrencies. Download it from the official Ledger website for your operating system:

Step 2: Initialize Your Ledger Device

Connect your Ledger device to your computer using the provided USB cable. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device:

  1. Press the button next to the USB port until the Ledger logo appears to turn on the device.
  2. Choose your language and press both buttons to confirm.
  3. Select "Set up as new device" and press both buttons to confirm.
  4. Set a PIN code by following the on-screen instructions.
  5. Write down your 24-word recovery phrase and store it in a secure location.
  6. Confirm your recovery phrase by selecting the words in the correct order on your device.
  7. Once confirmed, your device is ready to use.

Step 3: Install Apps on Your Ledger Device

To manage different cryptocurrencies, you need to install the corresponding apps on your Ledger device using Ledger Live:

  1. Open Ledger Live and navigate to the "Manager" tab.
  2. Connect and unlock your Ledger device.
  3. Find the app you want to install in the "App catalog" and click "Install."
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Step 4: Add Accounts in Ledger Live

After installing the necessary apps, you can add accounts to Ledger Live:

  1. In Ledger Live, go to the "Accounts" tab.
  2. Click the "+" button to add a new account.
  3. Choose the cryptocurrency and follow the on-screen instructions to add the account.

Step 5: Secure Your Recovery Phrase

Your 24-word recovery phrase is the only backup of your private keys. If you lose it, you lose access to your cryptocurrencies. To secure your recovery phrase:
